The ideal-to-uphold
a lot of meditators treat posture like an ideal to uphold — a right way to sit that you find once and stick with.
but the primary function of meditation posture is to promote alertness and relaxation. everything else is secondary. often, the "correct" posture isn't the one that best supports awareness, but moving toward comfort gets read as weakness — a sign you can't do the real thing in the right position.
there's alpha in treating posture as an ongoing conversation; not as something you need to get right once and for all.
body mapping is a monthly class designed to support the physical aspect of your meditation practice. we use simple movement experiments and somatic inquiry to notice tension earlier, understand what it's telling you, and respond before unnecessary effort piles up.
↳ discomfort is not always an equanimity test. sometimes it's useful information.
