personal training as an extension of practice.
a lot of my meditator friends have a bad negatively-valenced relationship with exertion and exercise. there are other ways of experiencing exertion — and i think meditators are well-suited to finding enjoyment quickly.
in the few times i've worked with meditators, this suspicion has been confirmed.
beyond the transition from meh to yay, i'm also interested in helping people extend spacious clarity into physical activity. many meditators are very chill on their cushion — but if you ask them to juggle three balls, their spacious clarity might evaporate.
i've never done personal training as an explicit extension of meditation practice. for a lot of my remote clients, i'm mostly an accountability partner. that's not what i want to do here.
what i actually care about is learning to love movement, love the body, and for the experience of exertion to be something enjoyable that supports how you want to engage with your life.
i want to learn how to help meditators do this efficiently and effectively, but i don't yet have a strong sense of what would be most helpful — what people are most interested in, what the best format is, etc.
so: three personal training slots, at half my usual rate, framed as a collaboration over three months.
30-minute mutual-fit call. no pitch. i'll pick three based on fit.
